I have a Dell Axim X30 with Tomtom 3, a Dell BT-309 Bluetooth gps internal reciever which I believe is made by Globalsat, due to the tall buildings in London I would like to try an external magnetic aerial/antenna, does anyone know who sells them in the UK.

Thanks in advance

John

If you mean a re-radiating antenna try here:

does the gps have an external antenna socket?

if it does it will take an mmcx or an mcx antenna - global positioning systems sell them or there are normally some on ebay or most other gps suppliers.

I have a globalsat cf gps - I keep it in the car as a spare and it has an mmcx when connected and put on the top of car it adds 3 or 4 extra sats - mag mount (and strong enough to survive car washes etc - if you forget).

Any make will do - haicom ones are pretty common. - cost no more than 15 - 20 quid.

good news.

I have one on the roof of my car and my bt gps is hidden away in a storage area of the boot - connected to a power socket - I regukary get 11 sats locked on.

oine thing to watch - if you plug and unplug regularly the connectors don't last long ( I always carry a spare)
