TomTom POI overlays Limit

I've looked through previous posts on the subject but have been unable to find an answer to the question so if I have missed the answer please redirect me.

"has anyone found a hack or fix to allow tom tom to display more than 40 custom extra POI categories"


It is not that I particularly want to display them all the time but it would be usefull to be able to find and navigate to these places.
The Tom Tom POIs are a bit useless in some categories and the 3rd party downloads in some instances are much better.

We asked TomTom during our recent visit and they stated that they are "working on lifting that limitation" whatever that means. Until then, the answer is no.
