TT5 upright or horizontal - which do you prefer?

I've not yet tried driving with the screen horizontal as it seems more natural to me to have it vertical.
Two reasons:
1) I'm used to looking at a printed road atlas with a vertical page.
2) I'm more interested in the roads ahead than either side.

Any opinons either way?

i have mine in a upright position ,as i've been a user since tt2 i am so used to it like that now ,as i did try it but didn't like it ,as when i have to use the phone i gotta take it out to use

Landscape mode is pointless, you want to see where you are going, not the road names off to the side. If one is so unsure of the app's reliability that one has to be reassured by checking the road names one is driving past every 10 seconds, then I suggest that one has wasted one's money on a GPS device. :D

Horizontal lends itself very well to the 3D display, it looks like the view out of your winscreen. And the speed, ETA etc are all much bigger print than in vertical mode. I think that's one of the big improvements in TT5

In landscape mode, everything on the map seems to be smaller. I have tried switching between vertical and landscape but there was only little difference in terms of "where you are going". Instead, you get a wider view plus less cluttered, bigger print for the bottom status bar.

With TT4 and TT5 I have used landscape as the view is far more natural - there seems no loss of forward vision - I can still see about half a mile ahead. I get far more info on the names of roads etc, and the info at the bottom of the screen is much better displayed. A further advantage is that in this mode far less of my view through the windscreen is obscured by the mount and PPC.

I can't imagine peopl who prefer the portrait mode have seriously tried the alternative.

A question to be answered by the portrat fans - why is every dedicated Satnav system I have seen landscape if TT portrait is superior?

it's not as simple as aesthetics. if you Drive in Manhattan like I do, landscape is much better because you can see the side streets and names allot better which is a must in an urban environment like NY)

upright is needed if you travel on long highways like I do in NJ where all that is important is what's in front of you.

Landscape for me.

It feels more natural and the information bar is a lot less cramped.

It's definitely one of the big advancements in TT Navigator.

Horizontal definately. The bar along the bottom appears to be less cluttered, but also because it obstructs the windscreen less (Using that gooseneck thingy stuck to the windscreen).

Have played around with both layouts but decided horizontal was the best.

And Another - Landscape mode for me

being an Oldie whose eyes have seen better days! Luckily my Brodit Holder will allow fro Lanscape, they only problem is that now my PDA gets in the way of my wife's air conditioning vent. So I suffer from the other type of vent ie Anger!!!
