Greetings,

1. I am currently using the TomTom wired GPS receiver with TTN3 V3.03 (427). I have just received my upgrade to TTN5 but have decided that I will leave it in the drawer until the problems reported by many on this forum have been sorted. In the meantime I am keen to switch to a bluetooth receiver (getting a bit bored of the wired version!) and after having read and re-read the reviews on the latest Globalsat BT-338 I am seriously thinking of buying one. I see the price from UK retailers is around the £135 mark but looking at the ebay site earlier they seem to be going for around the £90 mark. Has anyone bought their BT-338 from any of these ebay sellers - if so which one and are you happy with what you got? I assume that buying one from say a Taiwan or Canadian seller will not result in compatability problems i.e. are all BT-338's are the same or are there different versions for different countries.
BTW my knowledge of bluetooth GPS is zero hence these questions!
Anyway any advice or info would be gratefully received - a bit nervous about making the wrong choice/decision here! Or should I go for the new TomTom receiver maybe?

2. Will I need to make any changes/upgrades to my current setup to get it to work i.e. would I need to download v3.07 or whatever from TomTom's site. I seem to recall some problems with H2210 and bluetooth in the past.

Thanks and enjoy the sunny weekend (for a change)!

Tom

Hi there
I have a BT338 GPS Receiver and the Ipaq 2210, I also run TT5. The receiver is absolutely brilliant. It far surpasses any other GPS device on the market. I purchased it on ebay and from a seller in Taiwan (camelkinginc). It was brand new and cost me £80. It came through customs with no problems and sits snugly in my pocket when I am driving. I agree that it took me a while to get TT5 to recognize it but with the help of this forum I succeeded. Buy one.
