Go 500 & Microphone

Hi all

I've just bought a Tomtom Go 500 & have the perfect space for it in a cubby in the car, it just fits in without the docking shoe. I was concerened you need the docking shoe to make and receive calls, so before buying I looked at the quick start quide on the Tomtom website and a few pages in it says "you don't have to use the cradle", I thought that meant that I didn't need the docking shoe attached.

Now I've bought the unit, I have found out that I need to attach the docking shoe as there's no microphone built into the go, but the perfect place for my Tomtom hasn't got space for the docking shoe.

Is there anything I can do or can I buy a microphone that will connect to the Tomtom itself and not the docking shoe?

Can the microphone be removed from the docking shoe and be attached seperately?
