I've recently returned from a week in France which included three trips to Belgium. Only map fault I found was to the west of Arras where two crossroads were verbally described as roundabouts and shown as such on the TT5 map.
Of course there's the usual TT peculiarity of routing you a different 'fastest' way back than on the outward journey but I guess most of us are used to that. |

Got back yesterday from 9 days in France, travelling from Caen to North Vendee & back. Just had a slight problem north of Challans, D32 & D117. Tried to send me on a non existant road, but apart from that worked like a dream. Even the speed camera database worked well (Thanks to BoPeep)
They haven't got round to painting them bright yellow yet !!

I have found TT5 brilliant when used on the continent. I have arrived at addresses in large cities and in small villages without any hassle at all. I can assure you that I would have had a nervous breakdown if I had been without my trusty bit of electronic wizardry. Just think, only a few years ago even James Bond and his mate Q didn’t possess such an aid. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I used TT5 in France over a period of 4 weeks last summer, and it was very good. The only time it let me down was about 10 miles from Calais just before joining the A26, when it tried to make me take a slip road to the right. However, the signposts said to go straight on, so I followed them and as soon as I had passed the junction TomTom corrected itself. I drove right down to the south of France, and extensively around Provence and had no other errors except for a new (3 year old!) one way system in a village which was not in the TT5 database. Overall, it was a huge help

Thanks Guys,
I'd seen the other thread when I searched, just wondered which folks felt was the best (most comprenhensive, easiest to download etc).
Am going skiing soon and don't want to fall foul - do these databases have the mobile locations too? |
