Hello,
Several of us on a Hungarian forum have the same problem with BT338: if it is turned off for several hours (usually a night), it's not able to get a fix the next time it's turned on. We waited 10 minutes, no fix. GPSInfo shows all satellites red, in one line. If we issue a Cold Start command from GPSInfo (removing the battery probably also works, but this is still being tested), we get a fix in the usual 1-2 minutes time.
Anybody experiencing this?
Thanks, Bond |

Hi,
I have found it can take a while to get a fix (maybe 2-3 minutes), after being turned off all night, but it does get one.
However, like you I have noticed that during the time it is trying to get a fix it shows (using VisualGPS) all the satellites in a row - usually in a line from the middle of the circle (Zenith?) to the North.

Hi Jim,
Yes, that happens when the GPS has information about the satellites but not their position yet. And 2-3 minutes would be normal, but no fix in 10, even 15 minutes isn't. Probably we wouldn't get a fix in an hour, so it seems to be a firmware bug.

Turn it off, turn it on again.
Fixes it every time for me. |
