I just installed my new 236 in the car. For a while the blue and orange lights flashed, but now they're off. Does it automatically go into powersave mode if some condition exists? Will it come back on automatically under some circumstance? If this is in response to Bluetooth absence/presence, it would be ideal behavior.

I installed it at the top-center of my windshield, in front of the mirror and under the windshield tint for protection from the sun. Attached with velcro for easy removal, and I installed a cigarette lighter socket under the roof, which is on all the time whether the car is or not. The flashing lights look like some kind of fancy alarm system...

I can't test it because my new IPaq4700 bricked when I tried to upgrade to WM2003SE. Censored M$... I wish there were a nav app for Opie

Hi Quantum,
I am using the 236 too, great little receiver Smile .
As far as I know there is not a powersave on this model and it should stay on regardless of whether theres a Bluetooth connection or not.
Did you fully charge the battery before using it, a full charge took between 3-4 hours initially and it is best to do this before you use it.
Otherwise take battery out and put back in and turn on after full charge should sort it, otherwise get in touch with the retailer that you bought it from, it could be a faulty battery?
Good Luck!

It sounds like your unit is exactly the same as mine. It worked a few times then died. I bought a new nokia battery for it and this didn't help. I bought mine from global positioning systems, and they told me to return it for a new one. I recommend you send yours back. Hope your postage is cheaper than mine though (£40 from Spain Crying or Very sad) . Just need to wait 2 months before I visit blighty and pick it up.
