Is Tomtom 5 supposed to start as soon as the PDA is turned on, maybe it is something I have done but can anyone tell me how to stop it.

Did you exit Navigator before switching off the PDA? If you do not it will still be there when switching on.

check if there is a shortcut in the \windows\startup folder

you can also rename the 2577 folder on the storage card to prevent automatic start upon card insertion

Thanks for the suggestions.
I have been exiting navigator before switching off - is there a quicker way to exit than going through all the options pages ?
Nothing in the \windows\startup folder but renaming the 2577 folder works, though I now get the following message when I start navigator "Notification error - \\:\Notifications|NamedEvents\EventWakeUp TomTom"

A slightly quicker way is to put the Exit icon onto the first options menu page. Have a look here for info on how to do it.

Very intersting, thanks - I have been talking to someone that uses Tomtom v3 and she says that you just tap the top left of the screen to get the program title bar with the exit icon on it, can't understand why they have not kept this feature.
