BT re receiver power up sequence?

I've been using the Tom Tom wired receiver on my Palm for ages.

I decided I would prefer a wireless BT receiver so I can use it on foot an not have be tied to a 12v supply.

I bought onw of these from ebay


It seems to be working fine. I can connect to it with my PC every time no problem, but when I use it with Tom Tom 4.4 and my Palm T3 It wouldn't work.

After nearly throwing my T3 at a brick wall I have discovered a sequence that will work time after time.

It is a pain in the neck having to do this EVERY time I want to use it, but at least I know it will work.

1) Make sure the Receiver is NOT a trusted device. (If it is then delete it)
2) Switch on receiver so it is in discoverable mode
3) Add it as a trusted device on the T3 and enter pairing code when asked.
4) Run TomTom. After a few seconds the blue BT LED goes steady indicating a connection and the Tom Tom screen changes colour showing a valid GPS signal.

If I switch off the T3 then come back later I have to go through this whole procedure again otherwise I cannot connect.

Do people with other BT GPS receivers have this same problem with the T3 and TomTom 4.4?
