Yes, the way I understand it is that under a good level of signal you travel around the city it'll detect WiFi hotspots and log the stronger signals to a Lat/Long GPS Co-Ordinate. So when you go through the same part of the city again, in theory without GPS coverage or low coverage, it should be able to somewhat pin-point you.

TBH, this isn't going to be anywhere near as strong as GPS, GPS knows where you are within usually 50 feet. There's no way of telling exactly where a WiFi hotspot is, only by strength so accuracy will be much less than GPS, probably in the 200-1000 feet range I would hazard a guess.

I haven't tried this, but tbh I can't see how well it's going to work. It will augment GPS when you don't have a signal, but accuracy would be my prime concern and I'd much rather use XTrac or SiRF III.
