I have just received my Maps of France SD card and it has a product activation code on a card.

There are no instructions on how to activate this using the activation code though.

Do I have to call a number or something ?

Many Thanks

Go to www.ttcode.com with your product code and device number. This should generate an activation code.

Is it a Product Code, or Activation Code - 'cos they're different? If it's a Product Code, you need to go to http://www.ttcode.com/ and enter the Product Code AND your TTG's Device Code - and the site will issue an Activation Code which you need to enter via TTG's keyboard, when prompted.

If what you have is already an Activation Code, you just need to enter it as is.

It's a product code.
I've been to ttcode.com as you say, entered the product code and it says

Quote:
You now need to find your device code. This code is displayed on the screen of your handheld device when you start the application.

When I put in the card and start the TomTom I cannot see and device code.

What is this device code ?
It is the device code of the tomtom or the new card ?
Thanks

Ignore my last message.
I have found the device code and now obtained the activation code.

Now it says :
Quote:
Use the keypad on your touchscreen to input the activation code. Press OK when you have finished. The map is now activated.

I am not sure where I input the activation code.

i.e. do I go to Navigate to and enter it in there in the keypad ?

When you turn TTG on with a card in it which hasn't been activated, it asks you to inut the Activation Code - and displays a keypad on which to do it.

You just type it in - by hitting the appropriate keys on the keypad in the right order! It's much easier to do with a stylus if you have one than it is with fingers - particularly if your fingers are large.

Erm, it didn't ask me to input any activation code.
Does that mean it was already activated for me ?
I bought it direct from TomTom.

This is getting confusing, it's Friday night, the end of a long week, well that's my excuse anyway.

I've somehow managed to plan a route from where I live in Essex to the Vendee with only the France SD card in the TTG300.
Not sure where it gets the GB map details from.

Sounds like it's a Plus Map - in which case it will have street level detail for France plus the Major Roads of Europe for the rest of Europe - including GB. What size is the card?

Hang on to your Activation Code - even if you don't need it at the moment - because you probably will if and when you buy a larger SD card and copy your maps onto it.

If your France map came only on an SD card and not on a CD, copy the WHOLE card to a suitable folder on your PC's hard disk NOW before some unrecoverable disaster befalls you.

Thanks for your help Roger.

I backed up the card onto my PC as soon as I got it.

The folder where I backed up my French Maps SD card has 364MB of files in it so I guess it must be 512MB card.

The folder where I backed up my GB Maps SD card has 118MB of files in it and I know this is only a 128MB card.
