Laughing After many registry adjustments and trying all NMEA settings, I would get the spinning symbol in tt5 gps but always "no device found" - but.....

Download 3.07 GPS, install, and configure for correct receiver with comport 8 - once connected and you can see satilites, soft reset and start TT5, may have to reselect NMEA device, baud 4800 bluetooth com8 again. Good luck!!!

Link as follows for 3.07 GPS:

The download above (tom tom gps prog) sorted it out for me. My bluetooth gps receiver wasn't even listed so I used the 4800 setting. This then gave me a port 8 in the list whereas I had previously only had bluetooth port 5 listed twice. It now works and Im very pleased!!!

Good luck

Adding the registery entry (BtBrowserEnabled) resolved my problem. Would this mod have to be done if my PDA was ever 'hard' reset?

At last, it works - TTN5 + BT GPS
Hi to all of you with problems getting TTN5 working with Bluetooth-GPS
( HP hx4700 + ClobalSat BT-338 )

Copy your TTN3 ( gps.ppc3_arm.cab ) to a temp folder and rename it
(gps.cab), then replace the one that is in the installation folder of TTN5
( search fore gps.cab if you do not know where it is )
If you do not have TTN3 gps driver, DOWNLOAD TTN3.07 update
(ttnupd307.zip) Extract it then Run (setup.exe) it will extract the files
for you - gps folder...!
Uninstall the TTN3 or TTN5 and do a soft reset, then use the
new installation Or even better, do a Hard Rest, to make sure no old
files or RegEntries still there...
P.S.
You will have to fix the file (TomTom Navigator.exe) to remove the VGA
support from it using ResHac as published before
(use Resource Hacker, to delete the key named 2057 in CUEX -> HI_RES_AWARE)

In GPS config, use other Cable NMEA GPS + port number )

Hope that is of any help....

I've tried everything to get TT5 working with the BT-338 but it wont connect tried the Bluetooth settings, the serial, all baud rates all ports and nothing. also reset the XDAII and only installed TT5 and bonded the BT-338 and nada. Sad Any suggestions anyone.

TT5 works fine with my old sysonchip CF_GPS but that defeats the object of the Bluetooth. TT4 works with the BT-338 fine. I'm v puzzled.

Open your registry editor on your PPC.

Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Widcomm\AutoConnect\000x ("x"
is the number of the com port your GPS operates on, mine is on Com7 so
I navigate to "0007").

Locate the key

Load up TomTom and go into the preferences and re-setup your GPS
Receiver. It should work now...

Thanks Tim for this info.

Lucho

I've tried editing the registrybut neither keys exist in mine. My BT-338 is on com7 where in the registry would I create the key: "BtBrowserEnabled" and change it from "1" to "0".?

Hi,

I don,t know if this will help anyone but I could not get my Qtek 2020 (XDAII) to connect to my BT-338 even using the "other wired method"

what I did find was that if you go to the bluetooth option in the settings there were two boxes, one for incoming bluetooth and one for outgoing bluetooth.

Once I had checked both of these boxes I then paired my pda with the 338. Launched TomTom and low and behold I tried the "other bluetooth" option and everything sprang into life.

Hope this helps.

Richard

....The Receiver is brilliant and receiving satellite data and sending it to my PDA....

How do you know this to be so, is there a method that I can use to test the output from a GPS receiver?.

Please answer fully as I am a bit new to all this, thanks.

BTW I am using a C500 not a PDA.
