There must be something we are missing here.
I have tried every setting on everything (other than the com ports which I cant change as they are greyed out on the XDA 2i.)
My kit is an XDA 2i and fortuna bluetooth gps. The bluetooth connects on com port 6 and flashes away merrily, but Tomtom just doesnt see it.
No GPS Device!
I am sure that there are many people as depressed about seeing those words as me for the last 12 hours.
I have noticed loads of fortuna owners having problems, so is there anyone out there with the same kit as me with it working. My mate has it working on the XDA 2s, so is it just me. |

Hi
I have had a refund now and rolled back to 3.07. I had a bit of a bargaining chip up my sleave as I am placing an order for 150 copies soon. Interestingley I seem to have developed a bug since the unistall of 5 and the reinstall of 3.07. The bug manifests its self by the connection to my BT gps locking up. A soft reset or a reload of the apps sorts it out. It tends to happen about 15-20 mins into a journey and is v annoying!.
Cheers

My message should have read Ipaq 2210 and BT 338, not BT 228. So frustrated trying to get the TT5 to recognize the GPS receiver I'm making mistakes. |

Open your registry editor on your PPC.
Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Widcomm\AutoConnect\000x ("x"
is the number of the com port your GPS operates on, mine is on Com7 so
I navigate to "0007").
Locate the key "BtBrowserEnabled" and change it from "1" to "0".
Load up TomTom and go into the preferences and re-setup your GPS
Receiver selecting other Bluetooth. It should work now...

I have been having the same problems, but seem to get best results by setting "other cable NMEA GPS" to "GPS baud rate - 38400" then bluetooth serial port Com8 with my 2210.
It seems to work best by turning on the BT GPS a couple of minutes before starting TT5 - then either let it stand for a couple of minutes or go th "Browse Map" then tap done and return to navigator. - I then seem to most times have the satellite bars showing.
Hope it works in France soon, or should I have stopped with TT3 which was working fine |

I'm in the same boat, got an xda2i tt5 upgrade and fortuna clip on.
It's really bugging that tom tom won't see gps, i'm wondering if the registry hack will work.
Also u had problems on the xda 2i where bluetooth connection disconnects for no reason?
cheers

Which US map? The one for TTN2004 or for TTN3? If so, is there anything special you have to do to get the maps working? |

Hi lucho, I’m going to try the registry editor as you suggested, it’s the only thing I haven’t tried.
I have had a look in the registry and got down as far as the ‘Locate the key "BtBrowserEnabled’ but couldn’t find the Sodding thing to edit it. Where is it? Hope you can help, you are my last hope. Trevor. |

Hi Robbins. I have tried your method on my 2210 and it too is com8. But still nothing. I am completely baffled. The BT 338 is working as it should. Flashing away as it usually does(it perhaps has 7 or 8 satellites) the Blutooth signal is strong in the Blutooth Manager, but no joy. But thanks for replying. Trevor. |

Trevor, he did give the location, above.
Lucho, I think it would be beneficial for a number of us if you would give the procedure for 2004 maps in v5. We Yanks have several weeks to wait for our orders, and at the moment I have nothing. |

Navigator 2004 MAPS for TTN5
You just install TTN5, then
> install the maps from you want from the TomTom 2004 CD's you have.
> After that, browse to the folder where you installed the maps and open
> the file "state.pna" (IE: Florida.pna). Change the number from 366 to
> 566. Put it back on your PDA in the same folder. Open TomTom and GPS
away!
I didn't have the BtBrowserEnabled Key value so I added it myself. It worked fine. Then I installed Iguidance 2.1 and it changed it back to 1 so anytime I installed another GPS package, it changed it. JUst make sure when your done installing all your apps, change it back to 0.
Here is what I was sent.
I installed a new app just now on my X50v and then TomTom
stopped working with my BT Receiver. So I figured out how to get it
working again, it may be the same thing with yours. You will need a
registry editor for your PPC, I recomend PHM RegEdit, it's free and
good. Check it out:
Open your registry editor on your PPC.
Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Widcomm\AutoConnect\000x ("x"
is the number of the com port your GPS operates on, mine is on Com7 so
I navigate to "0007").
Locate the key "BtBrowserEnabled" and change it from "1" to "0".
Load up TomTom and go into the preferences and re-setup your GPS
Receiver. It should work now...
Thanks Tim for this info.
