Hi,
I have CoPilot Live 5 latest version. I was wondering how do I show the speed limit of the road i'm currently driving on to show up on the display?
Can you do that with CoPilot live 5?
Thanks

Does it show up in the safety screen automatically? Or do i have to enable something?
I also have the latest TomTom on my Pocket PC. IS there a way to do it on this?
Thanks

I was aware that you can show the speed you are travelling at, but didn't know that you could show the speed LIMIT on the road you were on. I certainly haven't been able to find anything. |

The only speed limits that you can get are those included with the majority of Speed Camera announcements, using the database provided by this forum. _________________ Ian

Roads are defined in the database as a certain type of road ... e.g., Primary Urban or Divided Rural. You can set up what you want those road speeds to be in Trip Edit > Options > Advanced and then CoPilot will use those speeds to calculate Arrival Times. I do not believe they store the actual road speed with each roadway. As stated above, you can see your current speed but there is no way to display the Speed Limit on the road you are on. Some other programs like Destinator must store actual road speeds because you can set it to tell you when you are over the speed limit. |

I think that some other programs may warn you when you go over the limit, but only when you are approaching a speed camera, and they can compare your current speed with the speed attached to the camera data. Unfortunately, CoPilot only sees the camera data as another POI, and the speed is just part of the description.
If they really want to sell CoPilot 6, they will treat speed cameras as a special type of POI since, within the UK, speed camera warnings are now one of the major reasons for people buying GPS navigation systems. _________________ Ian
