As many of you know I have recently joined ALK to help improve the European Customer Service and Product Development.

From this date forward I will be collating a complete list of all issues that CoPilot users believe are bugs and these will be collated, tested by the European Support Department, assigned priorities in terms of criticality and passed to the Development Team for when there are vacant slots in development to look at and resolve issues that are seen by the public.

What I require from all of you (and please don't rush), is:-

1) Send me an email at daveburrows_~@at~@_gmail.com
2) Platform software you use, e.g. Pocket PC, SmartPhone, laptop
3) Version number you are using, including (dot release) e.g. 5.0.1.30
4) Problem you are seeing that you believe is a bug
5) Any track files you can attach to verify this or any screenshots (JPG's please) from PPC, SmartPhone or Desktop app.
6) Any suggestions on how you feel this problem can be resolved or improved upon
7) Include your Full Name, Address, Telephone number (without this we cannot contact you in the future and cannot proceed with the bug report).
8 ) If you have already been communicating with someone at ALK regarding these issues, please provide their name

Send your answer on a postcode (I mean email) to the above email address. Please

1) don't expect a reply, I'm sure I'm going to receive a lot of emails from you guys, but the emails will be filtered and added to our newly created bug reporting system.

2) don't expect an early fix. All problems will be examined on a case by case basis and will be looked into both by European Technical Support and the Developers. Some of the minor issues may be fixable in (dot release) upgrades (e.g. v5 updates via the website), other major issues like routing algorithms and such will probably be more difficult to address and may need to be addressed in the next major release due to logistics as some items will need to be passed back to NAVTEQ.

Please use the regular email and telephone details for regular Technical and Customer Support, the above email is only to report bugs so I can collate these.

Please do not post your replies here as I will not be monitoring this topic.

Try taking out the bits which make it appear unusual and it will work. That includes removing the underscores.

Thank you for that, Tim. I don't know if somehow I was already supposed to know, but I can now press on whatever the case.

To be honest, I think lots of people do that when publishing their email addresses. It used to be, say, fredbloggs(at)hotmail.com but perhaps the email address harvesters have managed to search for all instances of (at) and replaced it with @, giving them working addresses again.

People as clever as this should really put their skills to better use, in my opinion.

Thank you, once more, for your trouble, Tim. I see the logic clearly now, but was completely unaware of it before.
