Hy, I'm new in these forum, but reading around I found anything about the Holux GPSlim236 (also know GR-236).

As I wish to buy a GPS mouse with the possibility to have the bt if I'll change my Treo600, I found that the 236 could be a good receiver.

Before buy, as before now I never used a GPS receiver, I wish to hear the oppinion of sameone witch try it.

Do someone could help me?

Thanks and congratulation for the interesting forum. Wink

Me too.

It's either this, or Royaltek's RBT-2001. I can not have it turning off without bluetooth like the Globalsat does.

the GPS is alot smaller, has the removable battery but most of all the signal strength is far greater, sirf 3 is a vast improvement. I used the GPS in the oglove box of a ford focus and still picked up 7 sats without dropping the signal in a 4 hr journey home. I have used the GPS in my jacket and tank bag on my motorcycle without a problem, the size of the unit means that you can hide it discretely in alot of places. If you have the extra cash then i would say go for the 236.

Im happy I bought it!

well I already have all the devices for the Haicom unless some one buys it off from me my tree would have enough $$$ to go to another GPS unit.

Could Iconnect the Holux 236 to my Seidio 2500 Car kit hold via cable maybe...

Wodema,
Low Price, but your description describes a Rikaline GPS - are you sure you are selling holux 236? What support do you offer with this?

Can anyone tell me if there are cables available for connecting the GPSlim236 receiver to an iPAQ 2210 (serial connection, that is) and at the same time charging both GPS and PDA from the cigg outlet. I have this functionality with my Royaltek RFG-1000 and would like the same same thing with a SiRF Star III receiver. Important is that the serial PDA GPS driver supports plug-and-play so that I can skip the manual hassle and get up and running more quickly.

I'm looking forward to a review of this GSP receiver as it is the only SiRF Star III receiver I've found sofar that provides a serial interface. Are there more receivers that do this?

Thanks in advance.

Ulf

Hi Ulf,

The cable that you require is available to buy here.

It will charge an ipaq and any of Holux's Bluetooth Range (230/231/236) from a car cigarette plug.

I am unaware of any other SiRF III Bluetooth GPS's that also have a serial interface on the market at present.

As for a review - we are waiting on PocketGPS to put it to the test Laughing

Thanks for the info!
Does this cable connect to a GR-213 receiver as well?
