GPS Transmitter location

Hi all,

Im considering buying Tomtom mobile and wondered where it was best to place the GPS transmitter in a car. As an example can i just put it in my glove box?

If its the Tomtom mobile 5 this includes the new Tomtom MkII gps unit which has the latest Sirf III chipset.
I have the Globalsat BT338 which has the same Sirf III chipset and I find even in the glove compartment of the car I can lock on to around 8-9 sats.
There is a review on the homepage of the Globalsat which you should find has very similar performance to the new Tomtom unit.
