Some of these units take about 20 minitutes to find the sats when turned on for the first time with a good view of the sky if you have done this try the following.
When you switch the PDA on go to start then select settings from drop down options. At the bottom of the screen is 3 options personal, system and connections select system this brings up icons one of which is GPS icon make sure that enable GPS icon is ticked and the one below turn on GPS automatically when open com 1 if this does not work try the factory reset at bottom of screen in the GPS settings.

Hi Vice
I think you should take that one back and get an other one they are quite good units really apart from the fact that "bitching Betty" gets her direction a little wrong sometimes but I don't take any heed of her anyway I just look at the map as I can't hear her on the motorbike.

HI BOB
i took sat nav back,a guy at halfords took it outside and it seemed to work ok for him.
He said it might be something to do with the car that i have,it may have a reflective windscreen, have you heard of anything like that before ????and do you know of a way around this if this is true.
is there any add ons
thanks

Hi Vice
I have seen this problem mentioned several times on the forum seems to be caused by reflective windscreen. You can buy a seperate antenna for GPS and plug it in to PNA100 the socket for it is on the left side of unit under the thumb switch I see that medion do not have an antenna in there shop listed might be worth a call to them or hopefully someone on this forum will know where to get one.

Hi Vice & Roadrunner

I was told by a guy at Halfords that if i had bad reception because of my windscreen then i would be able to get an external receiver from them for around £30,

I must say that I have had no problems with my MDPNA100 (from Halfords) even in a car (Peugeot 307) that is supposed to have that dodgy windscreen glass... good luck.

On a separate note does anyone know if the MMC/SD slot can be used by a WiFi card. I have now got one of those WiFi modem/router things and thought it might be fun to hook the PPC into the network as well.
