Ok I have just installed my new seidio cradle. Now unless I am being thick, the swivel does not fit the pro-clip so I had to create a bastardised version usiing my old Ipaq cradle, and now I find that the seidio cigarette adapter blows the fuse in the car!!!!

Has anyone hard-wired one of these, and if so what is the general feeling? good or bad?

You can buy a hard wire for the Seidio unit from http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/viewprod.php?product_id=2153&max_cat_id=97&vt=list . I use this and it saves having wires hanging down the dashboard to the lighter.

No you would wire it into a switched connection in the Dash running 12v... However, I purchased this and found that the wires are a little thin, which means that I found it difficult to fit a spade on the end... .

Oh, and as an aside, the speaker on mine is next to useless!!!! Sad

odd that I have my adaptor just blows fuses in the car.

I do have a hardwire cable in the which is where i use the mount and I have no roblems with that at all.

My speaker is very good, yours must be faulty.

I've just bought a Seidio car mount & am interested in hardwiring the unit. Would any old lead with the correct plug work on this - ie - 12v directly into the unit, or does it have to be a pecial cable ?

Thankyou in advance :D :D

as long as the + /- are the right way round on the dc plug, it just goes into a 12v feed in my car loom

I've just hard wired my siedo mount in, as the ciggy lighter thing burnt out and fell apart in my hand as i was driving down the motorway!

I have taken the power from my stereo igintion wire and it all seems ok, however the speaker has now failed so it's going back as it is still under warranty!
