Toshiba e740 pda with globalsat bc307 cf receiver problem

Hi. I have recently been given an old toshiba e740 pda. its 400hz with 64mb. I decided to buy a cf bc307 for sat nav. All works resonably well except for the voice commands which are generally a few seconds too late to be of any use. ie it tells me to turn when I've gone past the turning by about 20 metres!! I am using tomtom nav 3.

Any help would be appreciated.
