hi all
Trying to use TTBT with ipaq2210 and TT5.

I cannot get a connection to the TTBT (original version).

Also I cannot open the bluetooth manager, I get the following message

"The bluetooth radio failed to turn on due to insufficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn on the bluetooth radio."

I have done the reset - didn't work.
I have uninstalled the gps driver and reinstalled - didn't work.
contemplating an uninstall of all TT but don't want to do this.

Has anyone else suffered from this?
Crying or Very sad

Try the soft reset again, if the Bluetooth still refuses to switch on hard reset the device, then re-load everthing back onto the PDA from the PC. I hate the hard reset option and really should be the last resort - Mike

grimbo,

Do you use your IPAQ for other applications or just TT? what ROM version is your 2210? and is your memory card CF or SD ...... The IPAQ 2210 has problems with SD cards, I have happly run TT5 and TT3 using a genric BT GPS..... are your using the 'tweakBT747' program? I find that essential
From experience I would suggest your using too much of the IPAQ's real RAM with other appications or data Tomtom is not very memory efficent.......
You can confirm connection to the GPS without running Tomtom by using the BT manager.

Please give us a little more information, I am sure this can be sorted out....

regards

I use other apps but always run TT with them closed.
Agendafusion
Timettracker
sprite backup
ROM 1.10.07 ENG

TweakBT747 no - should I?

After reading your reply I checked the start_system_memory and found the free programs memory to be about 3.5MB. I altered this to approx 11MB. Tried BT manager it opened up correctly.
I then managed to connect to my phone but couldn't get the TTBT to connect.
I then tried the start_system_gps got the message No GPS Engine. Please re-install. tried again & it opened up. Confirmed the settings were Tomtom & BT serial port com 5. Gps_status did not show any fixes. Thought it should have?
Opened up Tomtom. Set up the GPS for TTBT and somehow it worked.

Any idea why it didn't and does work. Would like to know for next time.

thanks for the reply.

OK Grimbo,

Yes I would recommend BTweak747 is its a small app that will prevent the IPAQ from continually asking which BT connection to use, when its runs it simply sets some registry keys I think it does not actually run all the time..... simply run once set and forget.
I am not sure why it didn't work but now does I have no experience of the TomTom BT receivers I use a Fortuna clip on which once paired uses com port 8, you did not mention if your using CF or SD card? that will certainly have a bearing on it although ther is a fix availoable from HP......
I am glad we are making progress any more infor needed please let me know...... :D

I use a kingston 512mb CF card. This has in the past proved to work faultlessly.

where can I find the tweak software?
