Argos!

the one store you don't need gps to find - just follow the stream of people returning goods in unmarked brown boxes and follow them or look for the queue of boxless people hopelessly waiting inside a sad shop which reminds even of Green Shield Stamp stores of my youth.

And as an aside not including the Cambridge store is doing potential customers a favour as the wait in that branch is terrible!

Argos - the reason internet shopping makes sense.

Ian (who has experienced some fearful waits at the newmarket road Cambridge store)

I'm curious about where the Argos list came from. I tried it out last night and it does not include a store near Cambridge (Newmarket Road) that has been there for over a year.

This would be cool. In a sense you could do it now with GPSAssist and TomTom Navigator. I'm not sure how many POI files GPSAssist could handle, but it's possible.

I suppose you'd need at least a dozen, if you wanted to split it into categories like Museums, monuments, amusement parks etc.

I wonder if anyone has noticed the Driving section of today's Sunday times!!!!!!!!!?

A device called 'Hoppy' is now being used in France that locates position via GPS and provides an Engish voice guide to local tourist attractions.

i.e. as you drive along a voice will cut in stating----' on the RH side you will see----- etc.etc.

This is a stand alone packege, for hire only, with data on MP3 files.

If someting like this becomes available, for use with a PDA either stand alone or as an add-on to TT or another nav package, I would be a buyer.

Does anyone know if anything similar is yet available or under development????????
