Map Loading Problem

Hi,

A friend has sent me a 1:10,000 digital map of an area in North Wales, which I have loaded into the US version of Memory Map and calibrated and it is fine.

He has also sent me a 1:10,000 digital map of the area of my farm and surroundings in South Wales but, when I try to load it, I get the following error message -

Error: Tiff file “D:\xxxx.tif” has more than 3 samples/pixel

and it will not load.

What does this mean?

I am told that it was produced and was copied to disc for me in exactly the same way as the first.

I would like to be able to survey my farm as accurately as possible and it seemed that this would be a good start. I could then beat the bounds ( and all the ins and outs ) with my GPS and iPAQ 5555 and compare the two.

Can anyone throw any light on this and advise how it can be worked around?
