Clip on and WM2003SE

I've just converted from an Ipaq 4150 WM2003 to an Imate Jam WM2003SE phone.

I've had to upgrade the GPS drivers to 3.07 from 2.07 meaning that memory map no longer works

The other difference I've noticed is that with Tom Tom Nav 3 the bluetooth signal light on my clip-on unit is no longer constant. It seems to be a dim blue and then pulse bright blue every second or so whereas with WM2003 it was near enough a constant bright blue.

Is this normal and more importantly am I doing the GPS unit any damage?
