Can anyone please let me know before I purchase whether the Safety Camera Database can be downloaded and used on the Mio 269 and if so what system does it use (Navigon, Smart ST etc. ).
Many thanks

I purchased one from Halfords in late April as I was told I could put camera sites on it, after 3 weeks of e-mailing MIO direct they now tell me I can't.
I have been told by Halfords that I need to phone the manager on Thursday. |

Hi Hantsred, many thanks for the reply and just to let you know that I sent Global Positioning Systems an e-mail since my last post asking the same question and they told me that you definitely CAN NOT load the Safety Camera Database onto the Mio 269 so I suggest based on these facts that if you do require a unit that will run Safety Cameras you take your 269 back to Halfords and tell them you were given the wrong info and probably change it for something like the Navman 510 or the TT Go ( I believe Navman now do a European version although a bit more expensive) or a refund???. I am now looking at one of these as my option.
Thanks again

The Mio 268/9's don't use a normal operating system like Windows Mobile, and as such you cannot use add on poi's for things like the Safety Camera data. |
