Evening all.

Can you advise what the update policy is with Garmin? I seem to remember reading somewhere that one GPS supplier, possibly Garmin, have an upgrade/update policy that means that you can receive product support/map data etc. on a regular basis.

Can someone confirm or deny or put me straight on the matter? Models that I'm particularly interested in are the Quest and the new iQue - M5?

If you buy a GPS which comes with an old version of the maps then they will generally give you a free upgrade to the latest version. If you have owned the maps for a while then you have to pay for the upgrade.

Garmin also provide regular updates to the firmware of their GPS units for free. Usually these are just bug fixes but sometimes they add new features.

The exact details are on Garmin's website.
