TTN5 seems to be very impatient. If the GPS receiver doesn't have a fix within half a minute or so TTN5 then administers a factory reset - even if the receiver might just have gotten the fix. Did you set the jacket up as "other cable" or as "other Bluetooth" ? _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz

I have been suffering the same problems with my similar setup and have reverted back to TTN3 as TTN5 is unworkable. I haven't yet bothered to try 5.1 (am I being stupid?) as this doesn't seem to have addressed the basic problems encountered.
Are you effectively saying that when using an EMTAC sleeve, which can only achieve a sattelite fix via TTN, as opposed to say a wired GPS receiver which operates inependently and can be connected to the PDA and TTN5 after a fix is achieved, there is always going to be a problem? I am of course assuming for the present that:
1. TT will NOT be altering their current GPS driver to cater for GPS sleeves.
2. An effective wired receiver, I am currently considering a Holux GR213, is more likely to maintain a satisfactory fix and avoid the problem.
Do you or any of the Team members have any insight as to whether TT will be fixing the problems of maintaining a fix with GPS sleeves, or would I be better served in going the wired GPS route if I want to use TTN5?

Here's how I see it. TomTom were convinced that all newer systems would use a BT receiver, and have adjusted their GPS driver accordingly (remember the BT stack bending that started with 2.07). They are grudgingly accepting the fact that some of their own products (GO, HP 6515) have an integrated serial receiver. But they still try to ignore all other receivers, mainly to save development cycles. I think this is foolish, they probably think it is smart. Time will tell. _________________ Lutz
