Is it Tom Tom or the BT receiver which is playing up?

OK today I decided to test my GPS kit from work to home -- Dell Axim x50v with Tom Tom 3.07 and Fortuna BT GPS receiver.

The route i normally take is one which consists of a lot of back roads so , quite rightly, i didnt expect TOm Tom to get it right there, even after doing a couple of 'alternative routes'.

Anyway, ater the A roads, ignoring Tom Toms directions and using my own, hoping it will eventually work out what route Im taking, on to the motorway and this is where it gets wierd.

3 junctions before my real exit, it instructs me to get off, then imediately get back on to the motoway Same thing for the next exit, and the next one and now its instructing me to get off at my real motorway exit, and turn back ..?? Is this Tom Tom playing up and not recalculating the route properly or could it have been something wrong with the GPS receiver?
