Conflict issues between tomtom nav 3 & o2 XDA2i

Please can anybody help me as I've just bought an XDA 2i phone/PDA and installed tomtom navigator 3 onto it with the latest updates available but when used with the phone running in the background (on standby) the navigator software locks up.
I have spoken to tomtom and all they said was that some XDA 2i customers got theirs to work & some haven't.
My PDA is connected via an Arkon power cradle using built in xtrac version 2.0.

Ive moved this to the tomtom navigator forum are you using blutooth or a wired gps if its a bluetooth one then use bluetooth on com 6 and a baud rate of 5700
