CheckPoint & UK PostCode on TTG?

hey

a mate has got tomtom go and wants me to install the speed camera database, and if possibe other POI such as 'low bridges' and 'fuel stops' (he drives HGV).

i have bought him a new memory card of 256mb from the original 128mb sold with TTG to allow more storage for POI and so on.

my question is - can i install checkpoint and the UK Postcode database onto TTG?
i will trawl the forum through the week for any other enhancemets i can make but any pointers on what i can and can't install, changes to make life easier and so on would be much appreciated.

sorry if these are really basic questions but i have only got experience with TT Navigator 3.

Hi, No its not possible to install checkpoint or any other 3rd party software on the go. It uses a linux operating system rather than the windows ce version. However if you have firmware update 4.42 this has a poi warning built in. You can also add your own POI. Also there is a new voice file for the saftey camera warnings, this is described in another thread. Hope this helps. 8)

When tom tom 5 software update comes out (due somethin in April) this will support full postcode lookups in the UK and Netherlands.
