haicom 303e mmf

just installed this on an hx2110 with a 512meg high speed (10meg sec) panasonic card [which i was advised was the best to get to avoid locks =/].

running like a dog, locking up every 3 minutes at best..

weirdly it can be fixed by going to the gps screen in tomtom hitting the gps tab, unchecking and rechecking the tickbox in the corner brings it back to life..???!!

but doing this every couple of minutes is driving me nuts.

any ideas?

in the gps settings i have it as tomtom navigator gps in the top tab, and cf_card generic in the bottom tab...

update:

have flashed the bios in the hx2110 to 1.00.14 (from 1.00.09)

have changed the setting for the card to nmea 0183v2 4800

and did not instal the haicom drivers this time..

again no problems getting sats fixed, but after a couple of minutes it loses them all, (the bars are still grey though) it even does this whilst stationary from the start, which disproves any theories about it being a wobbly cf connection or throughput of data from the sd card...

thoughts?

checking and unchecking the box brings them back immediately.. (but is obviously dangerous whilst driving)
