Hi mdw75,

The Globalsat BT 338 looks very nice, I'm quite tempted myself to get one.

I'd not heard of the Garmin GPS 10 until I read your post. The Garmin is waterproof (i.e. submersible in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes). So if you're a walker then that might be of interest.

Regards,

This is a very good feature, but it is not very important. I tried to use Benefon Esc! connected with iPaq for that purpose while driving in a car. It was located just under the forward window. I did not experienced any difficulties, connected with signal reception. So I guess that there is no great necessity to mount GPS on the roof. But there is one unpleasant moment: a lot of wires.
I think that BT connection is much more comfortable.
However, I think the main features are:
- Precision and Stability
- Operation Time

Overall features of BT338 seems to be more attractive, but Garmin is widespread in aviation.
