Hi,
My gps receiver doesnt seem to want to work with either of the packages I got installed. The led on the cigar lighter adaptor doesnt light up so I'm assuming that there may be a problem with the adaptor. However saying that, the pda is charging up when connected to the cigar adaptor. I'm confused. Now what ever I do I cant get my gps receiver to work. went into the config for both programs (not at the same time Smile ) and opted for COM1 and MNEA etc. Still no joy. I phone Medion for help and they where as helpful as ever (sic Evil or Very Mad ). The only answer I got was that for just over £125 they will send me a new charger/adaptor for my pda.
I wouldnt mind paying that if I knew that this was the problem. Has anybody got any similiar experiences? And for the favour here. Does anybody live local to Worcestershire and has a RGM2000 which I can try on my pda to establish if I need to get a new one. Any help will be appreciated.
Regards

Twanny

A couple of thoughts occur.

If the GPS is in SiRF binary mode (assuming it's SiRF based), the LED may not light.

What happens if you install something like Winfast (Leadtek) Navigator and try to open the GPS in that? See this article for details.

Hmmm I dont know enough to answer the first query i.e SIRF or not but I assumed that its NMEA. I did install Winfast and still didnt have any joy. Crying or Very sad I ordered a new gps receiver and that should solve my problem. Thanks for your input. I will keep the forum posted of the outcome. Smile

regards
