Hello all,
Sorry to trouble you all, but I am in the middle of purchasing a navman 630 with the V3 software, and also just brough a 1GB SD card, I have gone onto there website and it does not really make it clear that it will work in it or not. I understand that it will run slower but I want it to hold the europe maps on it. Can anyone tell me if this is possible please and are there any hints with this please?
Many Thanks |

Hmmm... I know it will work with some 512Mb SD cards, but I'm not sure about 1Gb ones. Seeing as you've already bought the card I sugguest formatting it using the icn 630 software and giving it a go. If you can, use a card writer to transfer the data across to the card though. Tranferring the whole of Europe via the icn 630 itself will take a very long time! _________________ TTG 720

The 512mb card works well. I actually spoke to a Tech Support at NAVMAN USA :D and he told me he personally uses the 512mb card on his 630 & 510. The documentation clearly states that 256mb is supported. I currently use 2 512's and a 256mb card. Congratulations on your purchase.

My 1 GB SD card works OK as well. But unless you want to travel from Norway to Italy in one go, 512MB shopuld be enough. _________________ Daniel

Navman support told me the cards have to be 'high speed'. This means 60x or faster, which is about 9MB/s transfer rate or faster. Have seen posts from successful 1Gb users on other fora. |

In the Navman online store you can now buy a 1Gb Sandisk card, that they say works in 630 and several other models, provided you have V3 software.
