Navigating to villages

Is there a way to navigate to small villages. If I navigate to >> address, it finds the village, but then needs a road. Can you navigate to a small village without putting a road in, it doesn't even seem to give you a selection of roads located within the village, to pick one.
This really seems to be a major problem.
Maybe another fix for a software upgrade

If you type in a placename and then when asked for a road retype the placename it will list the placename with a small icon next to it. Tapping the line witth the icon will take you to the centre of the village. If you do this in 'Browse Map' mode you can zoom in and out or drag the map to your hearts content
