Hi,

I just bought a CR-100 from a friend, it works fine, apart from the fact that the mount will not stay stuck to my windscreen.

Does any one have any ideas / suggestions?

Thanks

Its a bit tricky but once its stuck its stuck! You need 2 hands. Press the centre with your thumb as hard as you can then operate the lever. It'll stay there forever. I have another cradle and it seems a breeze then it falls off an hour later!

Spent ages faffing around, but it would not stay stuck to one of the house windows.

Sorted it by butchering my old windscreen mount which works a treat.

Did notice on a short journey with tomtom that it did keep jumping around a bit (I mean it kept showing me in the wrong place, by a short distance)

This doesn't happen with my trusty garmin.

How long did you friend have the mount for before you bought it?
Did you clean the windscreen with alcohol?

Steve,

Thanks for the reply, I did clean the screen and the mount with Meths first, plus I tried warming it up (the mount that is) with the car heater before I stuck it on.

Don't know how old it is, I will ask, but it is probably a year or so old.

thanks

../Mark

Hi,
I had the same problem initially, but did something similar to the suggestion from jimbo_hippo.

Also got the following from the guy I bought mine from:
"when locking the vacuum, try pushing the centre knob before locking and also have the pedestral stem rest on the dashboard so not too much weight is on the vacuum suction".

The above has worked a treat for me, along with a fair amount of saliva (helps the suction). Been stuck fast for nearly a month now and over lots of bumpy roads too

Rgds
