Speed Camera POI's for the new version of Mapsonic

Well, managed to upload the speed camera POI to my iPAQ, but in the POI Manager software it only gave me the option to upload them to an existing category, so I added to Airports, as there are none where I live.

However, how do you create a new POI category, and add the speed camera database to it?

Firstly, you need to have your icon ready to go as a 16 x 16 px bmp file. (If using VM4, you can exceed that icon size.)

Before you use POI Manager, you need to go to MapStore.

Click Map followed by Personal POI category ...

Then click Add.

Click Change icon ...

And then navigate to your saved icon.

Then type a name for your category in the box.

Click OK.

Now close MapStore.

Open POI Manager.

When you choose your list of POIs and move on to specify which category, the category that you have just created in MapStore will be available to you.

My original post http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14058 on how to add the speed camera data still holds true, other than you no longer need to use POI edit as there are now suitable files in the download from this site. This explains how to create and add icons. As metroace mentions if you are using v4 then it would seem that there is no need to resize the icons.
