GPS not found

I've just purchased a Haicom 303E receiver and Destinator software and the software keeps throwing up the message 'GPS not found@.

It will start OK, but anything between 2 and 5 mintues later it will 'drop' the receiver and I end up having to re-start the software.

There is no specific location that this happens in and when driving around I seem to get la lock on between 7 -9 satalites. The software even shows signal strength at max, then it just drops it.

Is this an interface issue between software and receiver?
Is this an issue with the Evermore chipset?
Have I a faulty receiver?

Anyone out there able to throw some light on this or how I can check out things to be working well.
