Destinator Snaps onto to wrong road

I'm using Destinator 3.0.73 (Oct 04, AUSTRALIA) with a HAICOM HI-303S GPS and find that Destinator not infrequently snaps on to the wrong road. And when it does this, it often (but not always) continues to snap onto the wrong road from then on. At first I wondered if this was due to GPS in-accuracies but if I restart Destinator it snaps to the correct location indicating that it is largely a software problem.

Is there anyway to make Destinator "re-calculate" the current location without restarting the program??

If you monitor that for a longer time youwill actually find that this indeed caused by the GPS inaccuracy. (Don't expect the position to be more than +- 15 m correct

What you observe is the "Snap to Road" feature - the program implies that you are always on a road, and tries to match your position to the nearest rod at that point in time.

This is why I like Mapopolis - here you can disable the "snap to road" setting, and get a much better feeling of the map accuracy.

So your problem is caused by

- GPS precision limits
- Snap to road algorithm
- map inaccuracies
