Due to my car having its cigar lighter socket under the arm rest between the front two seats, when I use the enclosed 12V lead, it is more or less taught from socket to iCN510 unit and is coming up to shoulder height (!) as it traverses it mid air course. Changing gears and risk of decapitation if suddenly decelerating could be a bit of a problem.
Has anyone got any ideas ? (Other than buy another car etc...)

Ok you could get an extension lead, which in itself is not a bad idea for the icn or other devices (fridges, 12v impact wrenches etc). I would get one which has two sockets, I use one for the navman the other for mobile phone handset. Think ahead, as they say |

Thanks Guys, didn't realise you could get hold of extension leads like that. I'll drop into Halfords in the week I think because at the moment am not driving over my 4 hour battery limit.
