This site has so much information I am bedazzled. But for now I really would like to know if someone could help in finding the simplest solution to my problem.
I have been caught out twice in the past 2 years by hand-held speeding cameras and I have been guilty of exceeding the posted ('inappropriate' ?) speed limits i.e. I thought that the limit was higher than it actually is...This leaves me with 6 points on my licence and I am not (at a fairly mature 49 yrs of age) what people would call a 'speeder'.
What a fool, some of you may say, but I think that I have to try to limit my exposure to the very aggressive speed policing policies of the Thames Valley Police force and try not to fill their coffers any more ( not to mention the threat to my licence). Statistically, I feel, I am going to be caught out again in the next couple of years even if I try my very, very, very best....
I want to keep the costs down and have considered something like a Road Angel but think that a GPS equipped PDA with software that will warn me if I am exceeding the speed limit (I really don't want to!) at ALL times together with a speed camera database would be the most cost efficient answer.
So what should I buy. As I said above, speed monitoring is a priority, sat navigation would be secondary and a useful PDA would be a welcome bonus.
Aiming to spend no more than £400-£450. So any helpful advice would be most warmy welcomed.

There are some utilities or adons you can get which will alert you to exceeding the limit, I don't recall them offhand.
It has to be said tho, if you exceed the limit, even if you are trying not to exceed the limit, your driving seems to be very poor |
