I'd really like someone to assit in the following problem.

1. I purchased an iCN510 from the USA. (not arrived yet)
2. It is preloaded with SmartST V.3 and US maps only.
3. I live in Australia
4. I purchased an upgrade box with SmartST V.3 with Australian Maps but is is for series 600 (not arrived yet)
Since I am not actually upgrading the unit, simply trying to get the maps off the disks, after registering the upgrade will it work?

In short, can I upload the aussie maps from the 600 series disk to the iCN510? Since the unit is V.3, and the maps are V.3, it should work eh?
Anny assistance wll be fantastic.

I would contact Navman with the codes of what you've got before opening the boxes. I believe there's hardware differences between the iCN500 and iCN600 series, in which case the maps you have may not work on the iCN510.

Maybe Tim or one of the other Navman experts can let you know for sure.

The general concensus has been that 6xx maps are not compatible with the 510.
However, there is evidence on the Navman US website that states otherwise. read FAQ's here
Technically they are both iCN devices.

I don't know anyone who has successfully managed to get the 6xx v3 maps to work on a 510 so my advice is to contact Navman before opeing your sowtware.

Hmmm
The woes of no edit strike again.

The above link to FAQ's was actually in reference to using v2 maps on the 510 and not v3 6xx maps. I got confused and cross posted the answer to the wrong question.

Many apologies Embarassed
