Mapsource and NMEA input

Does anyone know if it is possible to configure Mapsource (6.5.0 beta) to accept NMEA format GPS input?
I want to use a BT-308 to connect to my existing Mapsource software on my notebook. I have BT-308 on Com 11 but when trying to connect it gives me a "port not found" error. The connection is working when checked with Navigator software.

I have connected Garmin eMap to MapSource on a Laptop and used it with AutoRoute! You must change the 'output' settings within the GPS unit.
Only experienced with [Garmin] eMap and iQue

Mapsource works fine with NMEA input. Did you check to see if Comm 11 was listed as one of the ports that is available to Mapsource? It may be a problem internally rather than with Mapsource.
