Cheapest place to buy City Select Europe

Have now confimed that my Metroguide Europe software isn't compatible with my new Vista C - doh.

Where is the cheapest source for City Select which (as far as I can tell) is the only software that will work with my on road auto routing in the Vista C?

Any help welcomed - thanks

I've just been looking for the same map set myself and have had a good search around - my conclusion was that the cheapest place was www.aspidshop.com (in Spain) which was around £148 + approx £12 shipping.

Why wouldn't Metroguide Europe be compatible with the Vista C ?
Are there different versions of Metroguide Europe for different Garmin units ??? I didn't think so, from the Garmin website !

It would be more accurate to say that Metroguide doesn't offer all the functions that the Vista C can make use of, particularly automatic routing and rerouting.

Whereas with Metroguide you can create an automatic route on a PC and transfer it and the required mapdata to the Vista C, if you go off course you have to find your own way back onto it. With CitySelect, provided that you've also transferred the rerouting data, the software will reroute for you.

Also, you can create an automatic route from scratch on the device with CitySelect, which you can't do with Metroguide.

Oh, and I saw CitySelect on Maplin's website for £160.

Eeek! Until I read this thread I never realised that additional software was required to enable the autorouting aspect of the Etrex "C" models.
I was seriously thinking of updating my standard mono Vista to the new Vista C, and the ability to autoroute on the go was one of the main reasons. I never realised that it'll need another £138 to do so, as I too only have Metroguide Sad

Reading the description on Garmin's site I can see it's clearly mentioned, but not obviously expected Confused

I'll have to delay that for a bit then.
