car charger question

Hi,

can I use the I-TREK (bluetooth) car charger to power supply and recharge my PDA Dell AXIM x50v?

The polarity and the voltage are the same, but how about current rate?

Hello Gyru73

You should be able to find the current output for the Dell on its own power supply unit, then compare with the I-TREK, if you cannot find the output for the I-TREK then plug the I-TREK bluetooth in and leave for 30 minutes, feel how hot it gets, then let it cool, then try the same with the Dell, feel it about every 5 minutes to see how hot it gets, if very hot then its being overloaded, it will supply the Dell but may also shorten its life.

If the I-TREK only outputs a low current then it may also blow the fuse, so make sure you have a spare before you begin ?

You could if you have a spare fuse for the I-TREK see what written on it;
e.g. 12V 1A to see how it compares.
