Hi all. Looking at purchasing an ICN510 within the next week (after spending days comparing to TomTom GO). My question relates to the active points of interest. After adding POI's (eg. safety camera's), can you specify the distance for the alert (eg. 200m or 1 mile) ? Also, how does the alert display itself ? Is it just audio, or audio and visual on the display ?

Many thanks in advance
Simon

Simon,

There is, to my mind, a slight bug in the Active-POI alerts. Yes, you do have the option to chose the distance for the alert, but although it looks like you should be able to specify a different distance for each type of Active POI, in fact it sets all Active POI distances to the same value, i.e the last one you changed.

For fixed Gatsos, Specs and Redlight cameras I would like to set the alert to 600ft, but for "mobile" sites i'd like to set it to 0.5 miles, but I don't think you can, currently I have a compromise of 0.25 miles for all.

The Alert itself is a "chime" and a legend on the bottom of the screen that counts you down to POI, as well as the icon appearing on the map.

hope this helps

Not an iCN 510, but since the functionality is virtually the same I expect this to be at least very similar, if not identical.

I have settings in imperial, and I can select 150', 300', 600', 1/4mile, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 2 miles, 5 miles, 5 miles or 20 miles. The alert is audible, and can be changed on an iCN apparently, and there is also a visual warning by way of a banner giving information on the POI.

On the PiN/PPC version of the software, you can have different settings for each category.
