I am about to purchase a Navman iCN 510 after reading the many helpful advice topics on this site, thanks, but there is one point I am not too clear about and that is if I know a location (maybe for example a picnic site or view point) that doesn't have an address or post code, is it possible to navigate to the location by entering a Grid reference or failing that can you (from what I have seen on the shop demo ) drag the stylus to the location on the map and maybe make it the destination somehow by marking that spot in a memory (obviously this would give you the Grid now) or is there an alternative to this that I am missing. Any info would be greatfully received.
Merry Christmas all

Unfortunately it is not possible to navigate to a location by entering a grid reference. This was a 'wish' entered in the wish list back in June 2004 but did not make it into v3 software.
You can, however, drag the stylus to find the location on the map and make it the destination or save the point as a favourite by tapping and holding that point which brings up a pop-up menu from which you can select 'navigate to' or add to favourites'.
The grid reference can also be viewed by selecting the road name, favourite name, POI or quick nav from the top of the same pop-up menu. _________________ Ian.

Excellent news icsys, very many thanks for the information and it was just what I wanted to know, at least I know now that I can navigate to a known spot. Brilliant
Thanks again for the rapid response. |
