Slow to update direction / orientation

I've recently upgraded from CityMaps to Navigator though I had the same issue with Citymaps. I use Navigator while walking and I find it's very slow to update my orientation - when I start off on a route it gets my orientation correct but when I turn a corner it doesn't seem to update my orientation even after walking the length of the street. This means that I can't use the 3D navigator view because the view will be constantly facing perpendicular to my heading. Anybody else come across this problem?

Unfortunately that's to expect in walking mode. Your position changes are just not big enough for the program to understand that this is not just the DOP (dilution of precision) but you actually moving. DOP is 5-15 metres horizontally.

It's much less of a problem when you are driving. You can try one of the newer chipsets (SiRF Xtrac v2 or SirF III ) - those have a lower calculated DOP.
