Maps disappear every time I load my POI's up

Can anyone out there help me please? I've been reading these forums for ages, and decided to buy an iCN510 based on what was said here.

I received it a couple of weeks ago, and have now loaded up the Safety Camera .csv files. I uploaded them first time last week - with the October version, and found that the device would not reload the maps afterwards. I had to reinstall them from the CD.

I've just uploaded the November databases, and the same thing's happened.

Has anyone else had this problem, and do you know what to do about it?
